The ply base could be hinged to allow for easy opening and obviously the roof would be flat for the dog to lay on in warmer weather (top or bottom of the actual barrel). Be ideal for the spaniels and terriers I'm keeping at the mo maybe perhaps need whole barrel though for lab and lurcher sized dogs.... Quote Link to post
joe ox 2,547
I have used plastic barrels but the dogs didn't seem to like them they prefer the wood boxes, the wood boxes cost about 40 to 50 quid for materials, the dogs chew feck out of them as well. Quote Link to post

Daniel cain 42,839
I've got 2 terriers in a big plastic barrel at the minute , never noticed any condensation or damp bedding... Used the small 40 litre ones for a single terrier and not had a problem either... Always drill a few holes in them and put a marine ply board on the bottom on some batten runners, bedding material on top Quote Link to post
