The powder in the cartridges are very corrosive and when shot the hot air in the moderator cools and forms a liquid that is corrosive to the barrel. Quote Link to post

Snap - one of my Sako Quad HMR's was shot out by 7k rounds, as was brothers Annie. I got another one with a varmint barrel for £450 to use wi a dedicated NV, had less than 300 rounds through it but no good for someone who wants a cheapo one. Quote Link to post
