It is marvellous what can be done for people today which would have been out of the question only a few tears ago. One of the daughters is a staff nurse on a ward dealing with all sorts of head traumas from the old lady that's gone down the stairs to car crash injuries and the Saturday night neck stabbings, glassing and all sorts of random facial injuries. They look after all sorts of cancer related surgery from voice box removal to half of the facial skull being removed, tongues, jaws, you name it and they repair it. She has said that it is markedly noticeable that heavy drinkers and smokers form the vast majority of the patients that have to have major surgery ! some are boozing and smoking 60 ÷ a day as soon as they can get outside the ward.
