In desperation I have selected my secret weapon. I have been holding them back in reserve but now I have to call on them! I sure hope I can sock it to him later boys! si brown 8,486 Posted December 23, 2019 Report Share Posted December 23, 2019 Was out pre dawn yesterday, got a call off my mate about a fox at the free range pig farm.. spotted it straight away with the thermal so put me mate on it! i went the other way and clocked 4 more over 2 hours but couldn’t get on them:( had to black and white it as it’s a bit graphic 40gn vmax at 86yrd We'll be off back soon knowing where to ambush them 9 Quote Link to post

I know your a traditionalist and I can appreciate that, you've got some skills.. but these new gizmos have opened up a new world, ive been in the fields watching foxes and the keepers lamped the field not even seen me or the fox! one walked past me the other morning about 20ft into some trees but I couldn't get a shot on so left it, I squeaked it it turned dismissed the call and just strutted off oblivious to me being there 2 Quote Link to post

Trouble with keepers they are usually flying around to quickly. You'll get them. Couldn't you use a shotgun for the close ones? They tend to ignore calls this time of year. Mine did last night. Just looking for a juicy Vixen at the moment they are. its not the keepers land but the farmer gives them permission as he gets a couple of free shoot days out of it. the shotgun would of got me a couple yesterday.. bloody typical we usually use shotguns on the wood side and rifles round the pig fields 1 Quote Link to post
