stumfelter 3,032 Posted December 22, 2019 Report Share Posted December 22, 2019 I was watching a programme about ww1 and a bit came on about dogs being used as messengers etc, then they showed a register of the dogs and I couldn't believe how varied they were. Apparently they used to run messages as too many soldiers were getting killed and the dogs stood a better chance as they were lower and quicker. Couple of terrier crosses so they'd probably help with vermin control as well. Took a screenshot of the register so hope this works. 5 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

What's amazing to me is that all them lads have had there lives saved by an animal. Wether it horse/dog or pigeon.. It's a similar feeling to walking across a frosty field in the morning with a lurcher and a few ferrets in a carry box.
