One week to go officially, although none are looking imminent. This is always worse time for me, waiting & also half expecting to find something going wrong (prolapse etc). Keep checkin

Yes to the Hamp tup as its a pedigree flock. Started on the 5th Dec, last one dropped on the 29th.

Weighing on a weekly basis, largest lambs now hitting 17kgs! Always amazing how fast they get up & grow!

Hope your lambing goes smoothly ?

Showtime. Set of twins & single. The single had  been suffering with TLD, so nice to get positive result.

Moved to mothering up pens, check mum has plenty colostrum & leave them to get to know each other!!

This morning one of the single bearing ewes looked like lambing so I grabbed the reject & a bucket!! Quick bath in some amniotic soup and "congratulations you had twins"!

What you feed them on right up until lambing mate?

I got to be honest I hate lambing, much prefer working with cows an calf’s, we spread out calf’s out all year, much less of a rush an hassle ??BAF6378C-9256-4D32-B495-35855BDFBB77.jpeg.b2966edd5f1f4511c6582e3f136f77ee.jpeg284D23EA-9197-460E-9195-CAA97502E16F.jpeg.36a50dfb9a12be1eb806ef73f83a5385.jpeg69B06694-4B73-41D1-91D0-C2AFB65D3B1A.jpeg.59ba201966e4430d93bc79ed7e443852.jpeg

  • 2 weeks later...

Lambing definitely in full swing now, had some really good lambs but also some lows (bloody triplet ewe managed to kill herself under a hayrack!) Couple of prolapse that needed strapping up but so far (huge wood touch!) going pretty well this year.
