Thanks for the advice Sid G, I haven’t sold it, I’ll hand it in. Sounds like somebody’s missing it and thanks for the productive advice from everyone.

I reckon that unit might never have been fitted. It looks too new and shiny. The law is clear; it should be handed in. But anyone daft enough to post something like the OP has done isn't likely to be doing that so he takes his chance and for a few hundred quid he might get lucky. But if he gets unlucky then he only has himself to blame.

Ask yourself an easy question, do you think it was LOST in the edge? Do you think you have really found some LOST property or stolen stashed property? Whats the likely hood of a farmer losing that? NONE........ would I have handed it in ........in all honesty nope lol..........would I have broadcast all over here? not a fecking chance.

What would your employer say if they found out you found it and not handed it in...................won't be long before you regret ever finding it ???

10 pages of playground nonsense.  That unit is brand new. It has never been harvesting, it's too clean. Because it links up with the sat nav system it WILL BE CODED TO THE MACHINE IT SHOULD BE ON. It has to be able to communicate with base systems to communicate data about the machine.  I know of a JD dealer who had machines out in a yard and a foreign gang who knew exactly what was what any how to dismantle the equipment without wrecking it got in and did tens of thousands of loss . A specialist Plod team was on the case.  The stupid thing was that a few days latter some bloke down the road came across a couple of sacks of circuit boards and other stuff. He saw that it was JD stud and mooched into the depot and asked if they had lost something. They were well pleased.  Even so it cost them a lot to refit and restore it all.  Even chainsaws have a chip in them now that gives all the details of who what and when. This JD unit is a complex piece of kit. If the OP was working on the railway or a contractor and does get implicated then it will almost certainly be goodbye job.  Just before Christmas. Great.

Ps. One would have to pay for entertainment such as this ?????

Yes I would hand it in tbh.....might lead to more permission from a grateful farmer who appreciates it ?

Or you could happen upon a backwater haystacks who lures you in under seemingly grateful tea and fruitcake new best friend forevers

and cornholes you into a coma heavy handed reacharound lotion on skin hosepipe ordeal

if it was a lump of gold or a wad of cash what would the replies  of been like  ?

I’d say the same tbh.....cash could be from drug dealers etc so keeping it could keep more misery off the streets.....it could also be an old lady’s heating bill money for the winter and keeping it could cause her a freezing lonely death.

This is off a combine harvester tho, farmers get enough shit off lurcher lads and poaching hence why they tend to get rid of anyone asking for permission to run one on their land ASAP. There’s farmers on this site probably thinking what a bunch of c**ts everyone is telling him to weigh it in on eBay when it’s going to cost one of there peers upto 6 grand of his hard earned to replace it.

Depends how you want to the story to end......

1.......look at what I’ve found and I’m going to sell it for Christmas beer money.

2......does anyone know where or how I can reunite the farmer with this expensive, near brand new piece of kit some thieving Romanian gypsy stole off him and threw in a ditch when it got to hot to handle.

I know what route I would of tried first tbh and shown us in a good light for a change ?

You sad fuckers waste so much time on other peoples business lol. Writing entire essays out. I asked a simple question in regards to something I found. loss of job and jail sentences, society has got you right where it f***ing wants you. Anyone would think I stole the crown jewels. I found a piece of farm machinery in a hedgebottom and everyone becomes OJ Simpson's attorney. If you're griwn men you seriously need to take a personal refelction session on your mentalities. This site was awesome 10 year ago. It's f***ing trash now. Don't forget your dogs are starving in the kennel whilst you're so concerned with being The hunting life hero.
