philpot 4,917
Having spent last Thursday night outside all night with the tankers pumping water away from our cottage......................................I have just made the call again for the tanker to come to the rescue. I am hoping we will keep on top of the problem because having lost the house for a year back in 2007, it is a horrific experience which I really hope we don't have to face again. I hope none of our members have been flooded and it stay that way. I have a friend whose daughter lives in Fishlake, near Doncaster where the entire village is flooded and her bungalow has 5' of water running through her home, a home which she has just sold and due to move in another week. Both myself and my wife have a very knotted stomach just hoping all will be alright but needless to say this will be another night that we will not be going to bed. I hope you guys are okay. FLATTOP 3,617
Hope you get some respite Phil, it can’t be nice I was watching Boris the Buffoon on the TV yesterday trying to play the statesman a week too late and he had the audacity to say that each home would get aid of £500 each what’s that going to get you a new fridge man hasn’t got a clue should have been £10000 minimum per affected household. 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 4,917
Thankfully the rain stopped about 10pm and the tanker took 11 fills which equates to 27500 galls from the front and side of our cottage. we still have water across the garden but I am not too concerned about that. I just hope we get at least a full day of no rain to give the road gulleys a chance to run out to the sea wall. Our scenery from the cottage I wish I still had my boat, I could have had a bit of fun. Rimfireboy! 1,463
Hopefully the worst of it is gone Phil. It must be worrying if you’re house is in danger of flooding. Luckily for me, I’m on fairy high ground, but some of the villages near me have been in trouble. 1 Quote Link to post

philpot 4,917
Just looking at Si photo, where could I get one of those black troughs from. I am guessing they are to mix cement in or something similar. They would be ideal for me to keep live shrimp in for bait, any suggestions welcome guys. Phil Quote Link to post
