Sausagedog 7,381
Just popped out to check zero for tonight. All's well and finished off with an 85 pace squirrel (rested shot). This old Winchester ammo rocks. Wish it was still available instead of this modern pipsqueak stuff they load today! 8 Quote Link to post

Sure there must be some loading data somewhere if it's an old factory round. Failing that, at the very least, you can weight the bullet head and chrono the round before your run out. You should be able to recreate it from there from known tables / bullets as a starting point. I find it hard to believe it's not possible to load something even harder hitting given modern powders. Winchester did offer primed brass decades ago! Some do to this day pull bullets and add there own powder charge and reseat the bullet but the gains are minimal being limited by the rims low pressure thresh hold etc. 1 Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
There are some loaders around now for rimfire. Very niche activity though: http://22lrreloader.com/design-details/ It's strange how older rounds can be better than new ones though. Usually the other way around with powder advances. Powders haven't really advanced, marketing has though! Quote Link to post
