Do I need it writing

I’ve got permission to shoot pigeons for crop protection on land although I don’t own or have a shotgun license but know plenty who have do i need this in writing to take them on the land to shoot atb  B.B.

How the hell can you get permission when you don't have the ability to shoot. Do not take others on land to shoot. If you have been given permission it does not refer to third parties. They and you could run into all sorts of serious problems such as armed trespass ( Max penalty .....  14 years inside !!!! ) and liability issues if there is damage or an accident. If they and you, are not sufficiently insured and there is some sort of incident, you WILL regret it. If you have taken them, YOU BECOME RESPONSIBLE They might be your mates but don't do it. If you want to go shooting get yourself tooled up. And ...yes it is always best to have something in writing that you carry a copy of. This Fs off do gooders and plod may impound any guns until you can produce evidence.

Sounds like a right can of worms that mate. Apply for your section2, cheap 2nd hand semi auto and get some insurance.

Get permission in writing mate , and add your friend with the farmers consent 

and as said get insurance I’m sure your mate will have it tho 

nothing stopping you shooting them with a air rifle say under a sitty tree etc

They law says ' a shotgun licence shall be granted' sans certain criminal offences.

Firearms, ' a good reason has to be supplied by the applicant'.

Technically you don't need anything to own a shotgun licence.
