Just to give the terriers a bit of extra steam. They can never to too fit.

Oh they can, well, they can certainly be over worked. Never had a digging dog that needed mill work, keeping out and about running the fields in the summer, don't let them get fat, then a couple of days graft come the season will have them on point....

I dont have a yard to run my terriers in. I have to walk them on a lead. There is loads of livestock in my area. Just of of interest. Why would you put a pit/bull terrier on a slat mill and not a working terrier?

No reason why not, but in my experience no real need. Stick em in the car and drive to a country park, long bit of rope and put them on couples. Flirt pole is good too when your times limited and breaks the routine.

Why? A pit needs to be in tip-top condition for what it does...........it needs pushing to the max, like gnasher said, it needs its lungs stretching for the work it does ie plenty of stamina.

Your Patterdales borders or black and tans don't need that sort of intensive training, but hey if its what you want to do.........go for it
