Few things going on there me aul bucko,  first,  sexuality has kicked in , he’s more driven , eager to investigate sights/smells etc , while grub/gut had motivated him before, now his balls are tingling for work , it’s not a dead ear it’s a different emotional state

A dog has no idea what its bred for , it has no idea it wasn’t born to run down the driveway barking like a c**t because if that the only physical expression open to him that’s the position it’ll fill , it needs some form or work/hunting

forget training in the house, forget that shite , if the dog is in the house , ignore the f****r , inside rest outside play , train where the dog needs to listen , the field,

the staff thing may become an issue time will tell, and it may be only staffies could be any male dog , don’t walk him on a lead around dogs it’s only building up tension , take him out into the countryside and let his temperment develop naturally   Best of luck

I threw him in with 2 springers the same day hoping it would stop it being a long term issue but he knew them to an extent so not sure if it worked. Back to basics on the training I'm figuring from the advice. He's a cracking dog & I think Ive over thought things really but I've never had it happen with an outside dog but didn't want the pup ruining so the usual traits with any breed of dog that I'd that as his age I've maybe talked myself into thinking it's more. I'll just take my time with him. Thank you for the advice

Probably a mixture of both issues coming out. Next time it snarls/barks at the door/someone passing, pin it to the floor and repeatedly punch it in the balls/fanny. When it submits with thos

My dog keeps chasing people on a bike .... So I've taken the bike off him ?

He's not tall enough to reach a lurchers balls.

Get him out working with some other dog friendly dogs so he can associate other dogs with a good time instead of pain and aggression. He may always hate staffs as I had a pit pup attacked by two cattle dogs.As an adult she used to throw around every cattle dog she got close to.

 how the dog bred mate,?

Think Grey x merle collie with some bull thrown in I've been told- cracking looking dog but can't unload a photo.... He's my first lurcher, gave into my 16yr old who wanted to try something other than pheasant/duck... few of his mates works with their old man.

Seems a common theme young dogs get attacked and when they mature they turn the tables. Pain in the arse all due to some idiot with an off lead dog and no  control.

Def owners fault with this, dog was off lead but shouted he's better with dogs off lead than on (wtf?) , he only called it [BANNED TEXT] I was shouting at him to get it on lead but kicked it to get him off my pup got literally 7-8ft down the path n let it off again- that was after he ran off coz I told him I wanted his details coz he can pay vets bills..... weren't a young kid either, he was at least 45.... ? hoping this will be dominance rather than that but time will tell

mate  i know  what you mean there fookin  cowardly  tossers . and i tell why, because  when ive walked  my 3 dogs , that one big  90 lb lurcher,  old 12 year old 60lb lurcher, and  little woody  10 year old jack x 10lb ringing wet lol . when the 2 lurchers are messing about in bit of cover out  of eye sight, so just me and little woody, or just woody and old Bryn,  ive alot of dogs come running towards them, the owners couldnt give a shit. But Christ  do they fookin run to there dogs shouting etc , when my 1x gsd x grey Buck comes running out the cover towards there dogs , he wont hurt there dogs he daft as brush with people and  dogs, but  full on when  chasing game. i  tell what though mate i had kelpie x collie x grey bitch  brown 50 odd lb, strong with it, a b*****d for fighting and she do lot of damage, had to muzzle her when out , she piled into that staff, rottie, gsd , pit  make no difference to her  she was nutter lol.   like your dog by the way  nice x  that colliex drop bull .

Old Cassio has a point with this socialising. I made s point getting mine out and about round dogs but all ways some random mutt running up and piling in. He never had no aggression and hid behind a tree once when a pug went for him lol. Then one day a bulldog grabbed him by chops after it snuck out from behind car. The switch flipped and that was that. Can’t trust him any more :(

dogs in past never bothered and all good as gold
