Hi Sam , I was a keen wild Fowler for years . On the Severn estuary. My gun was exposed to saltwater and rain . There is no mystery or magic cure , just give your gun a good clean with any gun oil , I think I used WD40 a lot of the time . Don’t leave it in your slip , and it will be fine . Edited to say , don’t go taking grandads Holland and Holland either . ?

I give my shotgun a spray over with WD40 when going to take it out in the wet.It is used for corrosion protection and as a lubricant.Just do not try to put any fires out with it as it is highly flammable.??
