The Remington 597 was good but they used that dumb magazine with a rimmed case! The marlin I hardly noticed a thing. 

I never liked the colt 1911 for the same reason!

I am perfectly content with my Magtech, but if I had to rate any semi it would be the Anschutz 520 or 525.

Glad you didn't rate the 1022, some say its the best they have used, probably because its so rubbish many throw most of it away and fit the mass of aftermarket parts available to make it usable!!

I'm seriously starting to consider wearing one over my face every time I venture to the woods.

If I get tights, does the spare leg make a good scarf or does it just get in the way?

As for sticking a rifle in your stocking I can not recommend it.

For starters you may shoot your self in the foot and secondly you might ladder your stocking!
