as my mate had started to use his son,s .410 i felt the need to try something other than my 12g.2 weeks ago i little 28g lincoln 32" came home with me from the gun shop.to start with the only carts the shop had were 14gr very light but still do the job if you place them in the right spot.now after havin 4 sessions with the little gun and using the much larger 18gr loads i did my best round today at mr coleys.once i learned how it handled and where to put the little gun i was hitting as much as i usually do with my 12g siver pidgeon but getting much more satisfaction.what a great little caliber with no recoil so i do not get my occasional miss through anticipating the recoil from the 12g.just a shame the carts are £299 a thousand

You have gone for a cal that reloading would pay huge dividends and extend the joy of small bore guns. My pal had one which I shot a couple of times and what a lovely thing it was.

Have a look at 'Clay & Game, it may be an interesting route to take. All the reloading components are available here.

A bit of a late addition to the thread but my pal has just bought a box of the new Cheddite subsonic 24gr............................yes 24gr.

https://www.yorkguns.com/shop/cheddite-410-silenziata-24g-6s/

Too early to comment on them as he is awaiting his .410 which is at York Guns having a Hushpower fitted but no doubt they will be put to the test when the gun is back next week. An interesting consept to use just a 3mm cork wad and therefore allowing an amazing 24gr of lead in such a small cartridge.

I’ve found them to throw a good pattern and they’re quiet. Shot a few squirrels using them. A good short range cartridge in my opinion.

We went out last night to test the Hushpower which I must say is far far better than the Adler s/b with silencer that York Guns sell which in my own mind is like chucking your money down the toilet.

To the matter in hand,,,,, the Cheddite sub cartridges in 3" were pretty quiet but the pattern is a bit spacey at 25mt but at 18mt, superb. We are now needing to test some 2.5" and 2" as the range of most of the shooting will be around 15 - 20mt.
