I really don't know what the obsession is with pictures of dogs on game part way through the 'job'. I don't like seeing them myself, never mind Joe Bloggs on FB. It just seems to glorify the wrong part of the hunt. In the field it's a totally different feeling to seeing shit like that on social media. It's in context and personal in the field when experienced first hand.

Pictures and videos are powerful and can be used for good. There's some folks who are doing this to great effect, really capturing the essence and meaning of the hunt. Then someone posts a picture of a terrier jawed up followed by another with it's chin round it's ankles and any good is immediately undone.

Everything you have written is absolutely spot on born.

Cannot get my head around idiots like this tbh and they do more damage for dog work I also reckon a certain book writer did the same damage by publishing photos in books with lurchers clamped on foxes throats that were put in the public domain ffs why carn't folk just keep images and vidieos like this to their selfs.

You get these feckers in all walks of life. They have some sort of macho problem.. They believe a scarred up bullcross somehow confers masculinity on themelves. They are mistaken. Some are just sadists. A far cry from a genuine countryman for whom the kill is a by product of the sport. These guys would be more at home on the Jeremy Kyle show than on a hill side. I don't think specialist fox coursers have done the lurcher hobby any good. A hell of a lot of decent dogs which are not interested in fox have been put down because they are not "tough" enough. Bloody shame.

And what exactly is wrong with lads specialising in foxes?  I’d say there’s as many dogs pts by hare coursers as there is fox coursers.

Who gives a f**k, if a lad chooses to blow his own dogs brains out what the f**k has that to do with anybody else?

He has to feed it, he has to clean up its shit and he has to dig the hole.......the bloke may want the dog to do specific things, it may be like f***ing Lassie in every other regard but if it can’t do that thing then he is well within his rights to bury it.
