Absolute Poppycock.....Varadkar and all the other pro EU politicians raised legitimate concerns of would happen if

1. The people of the United Kingdom voted for brexit before the referendum.

2. What would happen when Article 50 was triggered and the question of Border between North and South.

You should really have a long hard think about your thoughts on this subject before you post incendiary and scurrilous remarks. I'm really disappointed that you chose to use the death of a young woman to make flippant remarks like that.

the brexiteers who discounted the Irish Question and concerns of a hard border have a lot to answer for, and this should be a catalyst for real debate on what will happen in the North with regard to the backstop and the status of the hard border between North and South......

And it’s unfortunate that you don’t have the honesty to admit you are happy to use Brexit, the border and the threat of death to try and lever in a united Ireland.

Just be honest, it’s an opportunity for a united ireland and you will use any means available including, but not limited too, the threat of a return to violence.

Fair enough mate, but I have not seen one pro leave  EU person mention “a return to violence” ........in fact I think (and I’m happy to be corrected pal) the British have actually stated that we don’t

See something on the news earlier about it seems an element up there really want ta stir things up. Not fair on the people that just want ta get on with there lives.

Ps For some of those here , you can  stage dress it up in whatever  curtain you want , the fact is that paramilitaries in both sides aren’t doing it for loyalist loyalty lol or swept up in a republica

Absolute bollocks

the Irish border didn’t cross my mind saying leave on that ballot paper

the hard Brexit forced by the e u led to the current conversation about a border again .

Get your own house in order before throwing stones at next door

Exactly, No-one in the UK ever thought about Ireland or ever gave a shit about it since ye first invaded us in 1169.....

and when it was pointed out that Brexit would cause issues with the Good Friday Agreement, we were told to pipe down...scaremongering...yada yada yada....

now leave the E.U.... But before ye go sort out the mess ye left in Ireland after ye invaded us....plundered our lands....starved our people....hung drawn and quartered us....performed ethnic cleansing and genocide on us before the term was invented....moved planters in to occupy our lands......so get all those house's in order before ye leave....sort out the mess ye left behind after the Goverment of Ireland act 1920.... Sort out the mess ye are going to leave behind in my country after voting for Brexit before ye leave.....

how dare you tell us to sort our house out....no hard border in Ireland....border on the Irish Sea...break up your Union....and we want repatriation money to help foster good relations in Northern Ireland, for unionists who are left behind.....for people in Northern who want to remain in Britian....pay them to move back like ye did when ye moved them over.....and when ye have accomplished that then think about leaving and telling us to get our house in order....

Should people start petrol bombing pizza shops because of Julius Caesar ?.......it really is as ludicrous as that when you start talking in those time frames of history.

Completely  untrue......I have stated from the beginning what would i thought would happen.....and that I was quite happy with the status quo, and that I hoped that the people in the U.K. playing down Irish fears both North and South, would realise that this is not a subject that should be used as a political pawn and the dangers of using it as one...

Wilf,  for the record, there should be no return to violence in Ireland....there should no family member ever getting devastating news over the rise of nationalism/Unionism or sectarian violence....or because they're gay/lgbt.....brown, black, white...there should no more police deaths in NI....or English army deaths either.....somebodies child somebodies parent....

that statement you made is an incitement to hatred and you should withdraw that comment.....

The problem is IMO people can't let go of the past, it was nearly 1000 years ago ffs, conflicts happened back then and you can't put that right now. Peace with never be maintained it the past is continually dragged up. It happened we can't change it nobody is going back and the sooner the people of NI recognise and start building bridges the better. There are hard and soft borders all over the world which people pass through with out starting to kick off about it. A few exceptions ie Israel and Palestine and once again the sooner the Palestines wake up to the fact the the Israelis are not going to leave and it would be better to get on and both prosper. My dads brother was killed in the WW2 but I don't hate the ordinary German people, we can go backward and forwards in and out of Germany with out kicking off again. The past has got to be laid to rest if we are ever to see an end to this and live in peace.

It annoy's the shit out of me saying you English came over and murdered and starved etc etc. Firstly I am not nearly 1000 years old and never hurt any body from Ireland and would not want to. No ordinary man from England went to Ireland with out being ordered by the aristocracy to do so. If you want to blame any body blame them, because they were doing the same to ordinary folk in England.

It’s nothing of the sort and you know that full well.

You still have not explained (and in fairness nobody has) why a border (which Britain has clearly stated it does not want or need) means that people have to start killing each other?.......please, in simple terms for a bit of a pleb like me.

History wilf? The British Army where still walking the streets of Northern Ireland just over twenty years ago, stop and search’s people standing at the road side in there bare fcuking feet cars turned inside out all because we were catholic’s while your Protestant neighbours got waved through, unless you’ve experienced that kind of treatment you’ll never understand why the Irish have the dis stain they do for the British government. To any Irish man it’s downright arrogance to tell them the problems here are Irish made.

Mate, I totally understand that.

In fairness, you have tried to have a conversation head on which I respect and like.

Voon on the other hand wants to go all round the houses and avoid a direct answer.

So, I’ll ask you again, given all the above.....why would Irishmen want to start killing other Irishmen over a border imposed by a Dutchman in Belgium ?

Can you see any logical reason ? Because I can’t .

Well Arry, my point might have been crudely put across, what am i trying to convey to some people who don't understand the "Irish Question" is the gravity of the situation with regard to Brexit...which is why I brought up the history lesson...I concur with your thought that the past has to be laid to rest, and hope it will be....different times....life has moved on....what i would hope now that Boris, Jacob, Jeremy, Theresa and others realise that this has to dealt with and not shunted down the line....that they will engage with real clarity on the gravity of the situation in the North...and stop playing politics with it....it should have been top piority once the Brexit vote was in....(and shouldn't have been downplayed before Brexit..but what's done is done....

i appreciate your sentiments, echo them back atand hope that ye have peace in your land even if ye plug the plug...

Still no news on what the logic is behind Irishmen wanting to kill other Irishmen because of a border imposed by a Dutchman in Belgium then?

And If we are talking hundreds of years back, you do realise the irony of you doing the bidding of a Dutchman don’t you ? Lol lol

When the DUP climbed into bed with the Tories and then the hard line brexitteers it wasn’t about wanting to leave with a no deal brexit far from it it was purely an issue of tightening the union that had been eased from the good Friday Agreement and as I said already when Arlene said that it wasn’t written in stone and could basically be scrapped if and when it suited all the time being backed by the people that had payed her for her support that’s the reason people are angry here it definitely isn’t a reason to bring violence back to our streets to find out the answer to that you’d need to ask the people involved because I have absolutely nothing in common with them and thankfully neither do the majority of Irish people.

Well, i would have thought I was being direct....

but this would be my take on it....in very simple terms....

Good Friday agreement = Peace.....

Brexit referendum....during debates Cameron stated "Brexit will leave hard border in Ireland"

people on the opposite side said scaremongering.....No hard border.....poppycock....when it was obvious there would be...

Brexit....

now wounds that hadn't got time to heal over are opened.....and it takes is a couple of stupid acts for it to kick off again.....

Irishmen  sees GFA agreement thrashed and tensions rise....

so it needs to be dealt with immediately now after the death of that girl....May should call in all parties and make the peace process top of the agenda again and sort it once and for all...
