With all the chaos,yellow vests etc it is an excellent distraction technique to delay the impending European Parliament elections and hopefully unleash a wave of patriotism which could also help favour Macron over Le Pen (iirc) and the far right getting into power. Even hitler admired works of art and hid a lot of goodies away but never burned them. Nice architectural building but crowns of thorns, cross nails and Louis pyjamas didn't really tickle my interest. All myths and legends in my eyes.
