Can remember watching a European final/game as a kid and he scored a thumping header from a corner .....just one of those that sticks in my mind but can’t recall the opposition......am sure someone will remember ...

1977 Rome , Liverpool v Borussia muncheongladbach  .

 

Joey ate frogs legs ,,made the Swiss roll and now he's munching gladbach ...great banner that .

I remember meeting him at Liverpool lime st well after he had retired a very decent man took time to have a chat with us  and if I remember rightly very witty also  but he doesn't look it on film but he was a powerfull looking unit rip Tommy

Read a good story in a shankly book about him that he lived near anfield and no matter what he was doing , if a young fan chapped his door , he would stick them an autograph or have a kick around with them . 

Youd like to think that’s what you’d be like as a pro wouldn’t you ?
