Joshluke 3
I have a Barnett Black Widow, is it worth modifying it to replace the tubes with some flat bands? Also, to save making a new thread, if I am holding the slingshot sidewards, what should I use as the reference point? Thanks
Mr Wilkes 2,914
The good thing about flat bands is you can tailor them to suit how fast you want the ammo to fly and also for the size of the ammo.how you would go about converting a black widow I ain’t a clue but if you do bang some picks up to show how you did it. Practice will find your aim point .
Devon Minnow 152
You haven't stated what you are using other black widow for? The problem with flat bands his there longevity. I had band sets from reputable sells last as little as 30 shots. If you are using you catapult for hunting with 9.5-12.7mm steel I would go for Orange or green Dub Dub tubing, it lasts for ages and with very good speed only slightly slower then tapered band sets. And no need to modify your black widow
Joshluke 3
Sorry I should of specified that it will be used for hunting using 3\8 steel. I shall take a look at the suggestions, and see what will work best. Regarding modifying the black widow, I believe if I was to turn the prongs to point outwards, and tie the bands on somehow. Sorry it's not the best description but I'm unsure of the correct knot name, and terminology. However if I am to do it i will happily make a thread showing how.
