Caught many hares in fox snares but never a single one in rabbit snares .

Rabbit snares used for hares are normally set at 9-10"+,more or less the same height as a fox snare hence the catches of hares in fox wires.

How big for the loop size ?

I make the loop 71/2" long and 6" wide, that gives me a nice big loop to play with so it covers all the run,set at 9-10" depending on the ground, set over the middle of the beat same as for a rabbit.
