Moocher71 4,044 Posted December 19, 2018 Report Share Posted December 19, 2018 My young bedy greyhound had her first heat and my busher broke down same time so I kenneld them togever with no probs, i just noticed my young bitch as started to cough a bit,and she looked out of sorts yesterday , they are back in doors now and busher is fine .just the young bitch looks under the weather . i don't want to take her vets yet but I don't want it to get worse. i try keep her warm,quiet,and rest her . be grateful to hear how folk deal with kennel cough. atb Quote Link to post Share on other sites

It’s a virus that just needs to run its course . Understandable cough bottle won't cure it but it will help ease the symptoms and when one gets it they nearly all will in close quarters. I've seen people spend fortunes on vet meds. Large rescue kennels for example might vaccinate all dogs in care to prevent an outbreak and spend thousands even when it might not always work and won't be any good for treatment if it's allready set in. As long as there is no underlying issue which pneumonia sets in on an old or sick dog then they should be fine. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
