Question

Recommended Posts

I have a FAC licence for FAC air .25 and .22 with no conditions on it which means I can shoot these guns on any land as long as I have permission

But I would like to have a variation   for 17HMR  my question is would this affect my no conditions on my FAC AIR ?

I know I would need to have land cleared for 17 HMR which I do have 3 lots which has been cleared for .22l

Ask FEO best bet, but I don't think so.  I have different conditions on my .223 compared to my .22lr

I have tried to contact her by phone ,text and email for the past 8 weeks but had no reply from her

I have also contacted the fire arms licensing and one said my conditions for airguns would be the same as it is and another said my airguns would come with conditions if I had 17HMR

I reckon they they'll give you a "closed" ticket for HMR to begin with, but keep your FAC air is it is.

Spoke to them today and my FAC air will stay with no conditions and 17 HMR may have conditions

there is no open or closed any more , but with or without conditions

It's the conditions that make it open or closed. Technically restricted or less restricted. ?

So no conditions is open ?

Well they all have conditions, but if it mentions land deemed suitable by the Chief Officer, it's closed. If it's worded the same but doesn't mention him, it's open.

That’s an open ticket, if you have the land suitable for the HMR you will put this down on your variation you will get a visit from your FEO tell them about your land and that you also get invited to shoot other peoples land so a restricted ticket would be a bit of an inconvenience, I’ve never had any problems getting anything up here all they want to know is the size of the land and an understanding of safe back stops, I’ve got a mate in Lincolnshire and they have a few problems with it been so flat down there so with the centre fires you need a lot of land
