Talking of bows!

Just picked my bow up with two years of dust on it and shot this group!

Ok it was after 20 arrows and relearning the cant on the bow. 11 yards.

Hmmm, may just need some tough arrows and errr different tips and it might be worth a nice walk with it

What length Nathan. I have a few knocking about. Toxo is short for toxophilite.

And of course you already know it's illegal to hunt live quarry with a bow.

It's underlay mate.

Mind you, many years ago I shot a home made broadhead through a poor target butt and it passed through the washing basket!

It shredded a shirt of mine and just missed her best dress at the time!!

That had me stressing for a while as I frantically emptied the basket!

Toxo, yes, I did wonder.

Yes, so many things are illegal.

So many natural things are illegal and yet some go to war illegally and kill millions, go figure!

I was setting up a scope on an air rifle and inexplicably a pellet clipped a baffle in the silencer. This wayward  pellet went straight through a big bottle of coke. this turned the bottle into a kind of fire extinguisher which propelled the contents of the bottle right up the wall. Her was not best pleased by this event.  The loss of the contents and the sticky mess left up the wall.  I was commanded to clean it up and to pack it in . Spoilsport. Perfection has to be achieved through practice and experiment. Bottle of coke = minor casualty.

You know I'm into bows, so heres my set up. 36lbs limbs fitted and the pure carbon limbs at the bottom are 50lbs for the 75 yard mark. Its obviously not as good as yours

Broadheads I like the sabre fixed blade for a recurve bow, the mechanical I use on my compound and cross bow.

That's a free style rig in field target I think.

That cut on contact looks awesome.

I was thinking of switching to mechanical as and when....

Which crossbow mate

I have the same bow in 35lb weight. Also have a English long bow in 45lb that I can hit a car door with at 2 yards

I've had a go at traditional long, drawing 60lbs at 70", I wouldn't want to do it for more than three ends at 50 yards. That's probably why our mediaeval counterparts had more than three fingers and eight hours a day practice
