Barbour Jacket

Recommended Posts

I just noticed this on my Barbour jacket today. It looks like a rip but I dont wear it hunting and it doesn't get any hardship.

Any idea what caused it? Is it just wear and tear, could it be moths? Any chance it be repaired?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the replies lads.

I had it on yesterday and didn't notice anything.

I only coped it today, maybe I caught it in something, but never felt a snag or heard a rip.

I'll have to get out the needle and thread

Thanks

Wouldnt think that moth would eat waxed cotton.  Looks more like a barbed wire rip.  Battery acid possibly.  Cost of Barbour repair ?

Looks like battery acid . Before modern battery packs this was the fate of many of my old wax jackets. Have you carried a battery ? Brushed up against one ?

I can remember cutting the bottoms off of plastic containers to put in my pockets for my battery,s used to be a lady,s hand bag from the charity shop with the bottom half of a gallon container inside when battery,s were bigger, going down to 4pinters in the pocket as the battery,s got smaller ???
