hw77k project

Recommended Posts

hi guy i finally managed to get my mate to sell me his hw77k action in .177 , ( he bought a .22 cation 3 years ago and transplanted everything across ) this is great as im starting to get in hft in a big way , im going to be transplanting my hw77 .22 internals over ( 25mm piston) and starting it as a bit of a project ,,

problems are its been sat in his garage for a while so not in the best nick where can i get it re-blued and what service kits are going about nowadays , i have used a few different types in the past with varied success  some utter crap and some spot on but bloody expensive

thoughts please guys ,

and if antone is interested my .22 rifle action and cocking links will be up for sale soon

cheers did up my hw35 last year and the home blue kit doesnt look too bad , but was thinking about going for a professional job this time , .. main plan for now is get it shooting nice and then see if i like hw77s in .177 as i have had plenty in .22 but this is my first in the smaller caliber

It took some time for me to get used to 177

after using 22 for years but feck me there good once you have put the time in to get used to them

now i can shoot both

just ordered a new FX IMPACT in 22 but im thinking of changing it to 177

HW77 are cracking rifles no doubt in that in any cal

iv no rifles at the moment and have to borrow my grandsons rifle an ultra 22

iv had some of the best money can buy

so the impact was the next move

just hope its as good in sub 12

Similar age to you Jimmy and i too shot .22 cal up until 7 years ago.

Now, as you know, all my rifles bar two are .177 and the .22`s are shot using lightweight FAP`s.

Mate, i`d go .177 with your new FX Impact with all the night shooting you do :good:

If you want, rather than need .22 characteristics just use heavy .177 pellets.

              Just my humble opinion.
