Feck feeding another dog , just put up a couple of Isis flags .. got the police watching my house 24/7 now ?

I married a Northern lass good with kids bit agressive around house & can cook. No one visits anymore. Atb

If you want a yard dog and something to guard your kennels i personally dont think you can beat a well bred bandog type.Naturally territorial, generally not dog aggressive if properly socialised, physic

When I first met my Mrs she had a ebt that was seriously protective of her and the house and hated me then she got a pup out of him they were  both the same no need for any fancy big dogs they would of done some serious damage to anyone that went near her or the house both them b*****ds even hated  me

They were good dogs back in the day.A bloke here breeds an old pig hunting line of ebt's that are also great protection dogs.I'd like one but they are still too jealous and dog aggressive for me.

of all the bull terriers , the ebt  are the best guards, staffs, and most pits are people friendly , out staffs and pit were great with people, my brothers ebts i never trust them .

i had a shepherd from a working line a few yrs back and ive never known a dog with as much drive and guarding instinct as him, i moved him on to a bloke who uses him in shutzhund and he has excelled there aswell so if i want another guard dog in future it'l be a working line shepherd.

yep when bred right , there hard to beat  as guard dog , and they should be more healthy and better temp than the show crap about today. aussie whip bullmastiffxpit sounds good dog and good age as well, back in the 80s when i had bullmastiffs, i knew few people thinking about out crossing bullmasstffs  to ridgebacks  to get more healthy type dogs , but dont think many did it,  it deff improve  the bullmastiff  in health , and if used a pit like his dog  , you end up with better alround type guard dog , and that the end goal aint it .

That was a common cross here 20-30 years ago as the bullmastiffs were starting to degrade in temp and health. They were a decent pig dog and guard with the hybrid vigour. They went by the wayside for the more exotic breeds,of which a lot are full of health problems. The bullmastiff /pit I have is a lot healthier dog than my bulldog/pits which will be lucky to reach 12.

I had to make a new account after forgetting the password.

I posted pics of my Boerboel pup earlier in the thread and thought I would post some more recent ones. 6 months old now and weighs about 50kg. Very vigilant bitch and headstrong.

Totally bonded with the horses and goats and starting to show some guarding traits so very happy with her. She is not a cuddly lap dog though, likes her own space .

nice young bitch, i like the head on boerbol  , it good shape with strong muzzle   plenty of biting power , like said i like the breed , but there getting far to heavy, try to not let her get much heavier . my mate  got bitch and she about  55 kg  , she had one knee replaced    £ 1500 quid,  and prob need the other done   same   fookin price  , they to bloody heavy , have look at my dogs  (Bull mastiffs) in crufts  post  my male  spot on   137lb  , and bitch  78  lb,  thats what i think be healthy weight for Boerbol  ,  that stop any man that weight , bloody hell ive seen farm collies and gsd xs rip you to pieces if you went at the farm there only 50- 80lb dogs , hope your bitch stays healthy  mate.

Hes not going to be able to stop her getting any heavier if shes only 6months old.Hip,elbow and patella problems comes more from poor breeding rather than just size/weght.There have been quite a few very large Boerboels imported with excellent hip/elbow scores.Id sooner have a pup from these than much smaller/lighter parents that havn't been x-rayed and scored.

Your right there mate, she still has of plenty of growing left to do.

I think she will level out at about 80kg. Poor breeding from substandard animals causes the heath issues not the size, weight. She comes from good stock that have been scored. Her line are quite large but very lean and active with it. Her side is 90kg and moves like a cat, I have never seen a dog his size move with such grace.
