My acd x greyhound pup out of two 1st crosses. 15 weeks old this coming Thursday. Looking forward too seing how this one turns out.  Atb Adam

Sensible advice I would also add,..that just because a Cattle Dog shows an inbred ability to herd large dangerous beasts in its native environment,..it does not equate to the catching and killing

Best of luck on your exciting new journey,...it will be emotional at times,...but rewarding, so have fun,...all the best, Phil.?

A hunting partner owned one and he was an absolute manic. Complete loose cannon of a dog, to much drive and almost impossible to tire out. This chap is very good with dogs also (way better than I am!) but he just couldn’t get it to a good level. If he was with it the dog behaved immaculately but leave it on its own it would destroy the house, turn your back when out and it would be off just waited till he wasn’t looking. I think it was wired wrong as every other dog he has owned has been taught an exceptional level of obedience. He shot it eventually but not before near turning him crazy. Not saying they are all like this at all but this is my experience of them. Phil Lloyd is the man he had some crackers if his books are anything to go by.
