I always went to featherstons bakery in bell walk when I was young . There was a definite technique involved in eating it as well . Too big a bite one side resulted in gravy down your Ben Sherman or too big a bite resulted in the gravy (the temperature of molten lava ) squirting down your throat , taking the skin off and a visit to the burns unit !!
