personally if your bitch is lacking in any aspect of her work I would not breed from it, if you do its likely sentimentality driven, and wont be corrected by the dog, no mater how good he is.  i would not use a stud with faults over a great bitch, so why go the other way.

I agree two crows but how many bitches have you seen bred from because of there lineage produce some decent stuff but like wise I have seen some bitches  work to a high standard yet produced nothing near themselves i suppose it's hit and miss or for those with a eye for a line to continue

I will stand by what I believe in time and only graft over a several seasons sorts the wheat from the chaff seen lots flying then three yrs gone done .finished.two seasons his the middle of the road in Turks of a jukel in fact the best will just be starting to tick .by there third season.yas won't find a good lot using young jukels fa studs if one his trying convince ones self it's fine that's okay ,I believe we heard this before over a certain cur on here breeding has a youngster,r  lets here about th stock from them three fours down the line been nothing mentioned off them, that was there take  on it done a lot in short space of time .atb bill

your right there bill great dogs usually start well and get better year on year, and if that's a male he worth his weight in gold, but you need both parties to be the same, in an ideal world, I have a spaniel here with nine seasons of 2/3 days a week under his belt, and I want him back in my line but the bitch I want to use him on is only a year old, so I know I will miss that boat unless another quality bitch comes forward, just to add this dog works like a dog half his age he don't just turn up and he will go again this season.

Can't you take straws tc then at least your not tied to a time limit and you will have chance to put  your good dog back in to that line more than once and it's gives you a chance to work your youngster for a few seasons

I think they charge you a one of fee for taking it and a small fee each year to keep it frozen i think prices vary a bit so it may a idea to shop about tc

I agree bill that you don’t fully know a dog after just a couple of seasons  But my 2 went on to have long careers with me, the dog never lost his reckless style of running which some would class a fault where the bitch became a great thinking bitch and could read a situation bitter than the dog ever could he preferred brut force. I can’t say them 2 dogs ever got better just different but their desire for work never slipped.

If you breed an get a world beater then go back to the two that had the dog don't breed from it that way you stand a better chance of getting another an even then there is no guarantee you will get another

Hallelujah  of course they got better they did int just get born with experience ,they were born with the drive etc ability you gleaned those jukels with work your bitch started to utilise her working brain males being males usually do there thing in a different manner than most bitches,but experience on live game edible or teeth experience like anything brings the traits to the fore one way or the other. Sounds like yas had a good pair same but different.atb bill
