Some will never put there lurcher up for public stud. To me when something gets popular its starts going downhill. I only keep lurcher dogs and im lucky ive access to abit of running so ive been asked a few times its not often ill say yes. Youll find alot of times people will use a dog hoping to fix bad traits in a bitch that doesnt work either best to breed strength to strength not to weaknesses

Bang on sir

Sometimes, If you really have something special,  leaving it until 6 years is too late. They often fail to make old bones.

Personally,...when choosing a performance type stud dog,..a beast that is required to pass on, specialist attributes,?...I would like to know just who is coming to the party.  However, for a rous

All depends in situation and if the dogs from a good line preferably have 3 seasons and proved itself to a decent standard of work and a good temperament why not

At what age do you lot think in your opinion is a correct age for a dog to be offered as a stud dog to Woking bitches my opinion is the dog as to be no younger than 6yrs old with a good track record of good form of the dogs trade. I see a lot of dogs younger from 2-4yrs old some as young as a year old I’m struggling to see the point in breeding anything from these dogs nothing more than producing a litter. Give us your opinions on how you do things?

Should the 6 or 7 year old stud dog only be allowed to cover 6 or 7 year old bitches?????

How do we fare when there be those that keep nothing else but f1 types and that suits em it's a quandary at times I believe this the lay lurcher man his usually the man looking to procedure better jukes each generation .thers plenty of use on her that want more from a jukel than coneys ,they want something right across the board or at the very least takers of a good variet of game etc, matching dogs and bitches his a way of levelling things out .they not all great I the lines of jukels breeding his only the first asset of a good jukel across the board. Age well the great greyhound had one race never to race again retired fa stud, breeding from seven ten yr olds I believe can be a misnomaneer on the other hand two yr olds studs the same could be said.some might says there hundred already out there waiting fa the right keeper handler to be given the opportunity , rescue centres bull xes tons of em collie xes tons of em mixes in between tons of em ,think before one breeds and breed da the right reasons cull any not taken and if there's a breeding close leave well alone fa a while ,I know this might sound wrong to some but the influence of amounts of work should dictate the amount of jukels one needs to many dog collectors feel the need fa more and more.atb bill

If dog an bitch have done enough an you think it’s gonna be right thing them who cares? It’s folk that chat shite to sell pups or just peddle pups that are mostly breeding shite. Lots a good dogs been been bred off youngsters, of breeder an who ever gettin pups are happy, then so be it? ideal world tho it’s common sense to use time served dog an bitch as sire an dam?

Thats the 1 but really the bitch has to be reasonably youthfull to have the pups ok even if the studs an old warrior no good breeding off 2 oldens tried it put me off breeding ote cost a furtune and note to show
