Best baits for trapping!

Recommended Posts

This may be discussed previous!i did try have a search and found nothing!

Looking to see what opinions people have for bait for rats?

Also live fox traps?

I currently use sardines for the fox trap!

Any real leftover food for the rat traps or else a sweet smelling horse feed!

Someone told me peanut butter which i use for mouse traps and when i tried outside for rats i found that the bait was always gone and i trap never gone off!Field mice?

First of all, know the type of rat before using any trap.

????????????????

There is almost exclusively only one rat in the UK, the Norwegian or Brown rat, Black rats are very rare and only found in some coastal areas to the best of my knowledge, I've never come across one in many years of doing this?

I baited some Snap E traps outdoors for rats with peanut butter and found them stripped clean - and I mean not a trace - within 24 hours. Reckon it must have been ants?

I like the Snap E Traps, if these were properly boxed then I'd be confident rats didn't eat the bait.  The outer boxes funnel the rat to the killing zone and VERY FEW get away!
