In response to the original statement of the thread, assuming it is an observation made in the UK, the only quarry we can allow a dog to hunt, catch and kill are rats and rabbits.

So no need for the blood of large Celtic dogs, noble desert hounds or a drop of the hard.

In theory anyway.

I agree 100%.

I might be wrong here, as I'm mainly going on what these dog's owners have told me. But I've been out with both of em, and the dogs certainly did bag up on the rabbits. But at 30.5""tts and 92lb, one of them certainly looked as though it could've been useful on other quarry ☺

I don’t know about your theory mate each of the bloods you said no need for offer some good things to traditional Lurcher mixes as a good mix An match bred Lurcher for hunting an produce some good rabbit dogs there’s always going to be bandits in the running dog game that bend the rules/law to suit there needs I take me hat of to them An say fair play to them.

It's the game thats changed, not the various crosses ability....

One of the qualities of both collie an beddy crosses is that they 'fit in'. No one bats an eye on the type because they are popular pets....

Edited to add... If your serious about your game, you'll run whatever cross gets the job done... End of...
