Wish I could shoot like that....

?

Start with a gun like that, the right pellet and a quality scope and put the practice in, with a light, gentle hold and you'll soon see your groups tighten to a single hole! Shooting a spring rifle means you have to shoot correctly to shoot one well. Begin with a low, prone position on the grass.Finesseful, gentle hold with your controlling hand gently around the "wrist" or grip of the stock. Just a nice, light touch on the trigger, slowly,  gently squeezing your finger back over first stage, till you feel that bit of resistance at the biting point and squeeze through, releasing the shot with nothing gripped or grasped. Everything as relaxed as possible. All the while, the forend stock just rests in the upturned palm of your supporting hand. Again, everything gentle and as relaxed as possible. Let your rifle recoil as you shoot. Let it act the way it wants to, every time, and you'll  be amazed at the accuracy you will begin to glean from it.

All the best.

Simon.

It sets a new standard in Springer shooting.

Can I ask, Mark - is that bench rested or off sticks?

Hi LJ,

I do like my static hunting LJ, so a lot of my shooting is off Primos shooting sticks, the accuracy levels don`t half go up a couple of gears using shooting sticks .

Don`t get me wrong though, I spend hours and hours practicing shooting and range finding out in the fields also.

As the lads say, "practice" and make that "good practice".

For every 5,000 pellet batches I buy, I`ll bet 4,000 are shot in practice, if not more.

            Good luck LJ

                                      Mark.

p.s. sorry for the late reply.( lot of work on :sorry:)

Thanks Mark.

I get plenty of practice at 20 yards which is the limit of my garden range. My nearest 40 yard range is at my brother's house and his Mrs isn't always friendly about me being there, so when I do, the results are always a bit disheartening with groups of 30mm AT BEST with a 97kt  and RWS Superfield.

The quest for accuracy is a bit of a demon sometimes. The more you have, the more you want. But like you say, it's really only practice that will get you there.

Thanks, Silas.

Mine is only 18yrds at home and the nearest one after that is 8or9n miles away

Im off there tonight with the hw77 and the hw100

ill put some practice in when im there with the hw77

then hit the crows with it

then its the hw100 and nv for the rabbits

Even at 20yrds its practice and its some time,s easier at less ranges

just know how to hold her ,,,how she feels ,,,what she likes and dont like .

you will soon be putting pellet on pellet

then move it out by 5 yrds and so on some where else when you can

a good way of getting the practice in is the shit shot challenge

it works your mind honest

Is there no shooting ranges around your way LJ

There's Pete's Air Gun Farm, a couple of FT clubs and a rimfire range. But it's either a bit of a hike or fitting in with their opening times etc.

I have a couple of permissions with plenty of space, and on a still day these are good for punching paper at 40 yards plus.

I just need to set more time aside.
