back when I started a long long time ago ,saluki was introduced direct to peoples existing lurchers to improve coursing ability, but little did they know just how important these crosses would become

I’ve always worked off the principle that if a animal was bred for a specific purpose the pups will be genetically predisposed to gravitate towards that purpose, actually catching game in this ca

breading the ideal lurcher is a tricky one to say the least, some want this some want that etc etc,, not to big not to small, with coursing dogs it was slightly easier because its more of a specialist

Window cleaner has an Alsatian bitch (protection stuff), he keeps it round his place for guarding, excellent with children very protective, anyhow his Saluki lurcher dog (7/8 sal 1/8 grey) stuffed her (accidental breeding), 6 pups, offered me one but unfortunately I don’t have the time for it. The sire he tells me is out of the Red dog Saluki.

prob be canny dogs with the right owner, Reds a saluki lurcher(Shearer x Rose) so the sire can't be bred like that, not that it'll matter

aye, I probably have it wrong, he did say it the dog was mainly saluki with a bit of greyhound, I don't know the breeding.

he did say the dog is about 9 year old and a really good dog in the field,

I know Reds breeding but jest of it his this hea saluki lurcher with a large percentage of saluki one could say almost non ped saluki lol if they were ta break its breeding down of breeds they would not know ,fa me he a uk bred saluki evolved for these islands have ran animals directly from him they all had one thing incoming saluki traits bags a running brain bags a wind there been a few bred back ta greys it would not be unusual to find them bred bak even animals bred down from red we bred one two a spaniel collie he WA direct from red,. No big deal ,ta what it's worth I would like ta see how they throw they could be very very handy.to right handler atbbill

might do mate,  it prob just drop the bone down a bit from the Alsatian  . you deff get good wind from them, not just because of the saluki  ,  gsd   have good wind and pace , like  collies do , ive always thought  that the gsd  just like big collie in lot of ways, but more grit in them. prob a good coursing type dog would throw better pups  , or like been said back to greyhound  still get not bad wind  plenty of pace , and better feet/coat  than any pure greyhound  , like most 3/4 breds have what ever the the x .!. would like to see these dogs  out of interest  and if they ever worked  .?
