Subversion And The Death Of Democracy

Recommended Posts

Sunday morning checking through the emails and I came across this little gem. It's a 14-minute clip from an interview with former KGB operative and defector Yuri Bezmenov, cast in (ironically) 1984. In this highlighted clip he explained the KGB's role in subverting nations by stacking academia with leftists in order to change the opinions of students and to show the benefits of a large governmental system thus making them ripe for taking over.

The demoralization process can take a couple of decades as the whole concept revolves around changing the attitudes of an entire generation of academics. He even says that many of these will become disillusioned because they have been fed the idea of 'equality' and 'social justice' when it couldn't be any further from the truth. They will become dissenters and are therefore targeted by the regime as they have no place in the power structure of a Marxist regime.

Look at some of the senior politicians today. Labour MP's and Democrat congressmen and women. The constant move towards a bigger state and more control over individual rights. At this point, he theorizes that exposure to true information doesn't matter because the population is so demoralized that it will not believe it until it's too late.

His solution?

"The immediate thing that comes to my mind is, of course, there must be a very strong national effort to educate people in the spirit of real patriotism, number one. Number two, to explain to them the real danger of socialist, communist, whatever, welfare state, Big Brother government. If people will fail to grasp the impending danger of that development, nothing ever can help"

This is a 34-year-old interview and you can pick up any remote control in either of our respective countries and switch on any news station and see this playing out. From the perpetual state of "offence" taken to systematic removal of basic human rights to the total lack of f*cks given by the perpetually demoralized. The Soviet Union is long gone but its ideology is alive and well today still claiming to have all the answers despite history showing us that has always failed but killed millions in the process. Instead of calling it out for what it is we hear 'Well, no one has exercised true socialism..." and the whole thing starts again.

I'm not quite sure I understand. Rather than infiltrate any of the described structures. Trump rides a wave of malcontent attacking more from the outside. There can be no doubt however that the USA is experiencing a back-lash against the Ideological Leftists. College professors, news people, and the like.

I believe his solution, but not that the whole thing has been orchestrated. 'They' couldnt organise shit, never mind that sort of shit. I'd be deeply suspicious that ex KGB matey is nothing more than an astute defector playing on the West's commiephobia to give himself some value.

The threat is real enough.

Same. They're taking credit for it, nothing more. They didn't do it because like all big governments they're massively inefficient and couldn't find their arse with both hands in most cases but it did play out pretty much the way he said it IMHO. They're just taking the praise for the way the cards fell. It's like when they warned against Colorado beetle destroying their potato crop. Everyone was out looking for them when in reality they didn't have a potato crop to begin with. They simply took advantage of the situation through their own propaganda machine. Robert Conquest's books were vilified when he took Stalinism to task, because of this entrenched mentality that government is inherently good and everything else is bad. The left were looking at the east as a model of perfection and the Soviets played them like a cheap fiddle with their propaganda. Conquest listed the body count of Stalin's purges, coldly and matter of factly. It took the collapse of the USSR for him to be proved right...

Saying that everything he's said in the interview could apply right now if you listened to it even without the context of the old Soviet Union. The point that I took is that this push for big government is a generation or two in the making. The full interview he talks about destabilising regimes and you can see from recent history that it's pretty much a play by play of the last half of the 20th century. The wrong people in the wrong places and now you're looking at a 7-year jail sentence for teaching your dog to lift its paw at a naughty word. People are utterly demoralized with their perception of it and no amount of actual factual information will change that. We see this with the rise of fake news and alternative facts. People denying the established truth. People screaming out for the government to step in and make the world safe for them. Only the leftists are trying to make it sound like their way is the best way even though you can open any history book and see that it has failed every time it's been tried.

Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

From Wikipedia:

"Bezmenov's death was reported in 1993, but his death certificate has been described as "vague and suspect", with details unclear. This has led to suggestions that there was more to his death than met the eye, a faked death."

Something is "off" about that guy. Maybe he's trying too hard.

Well, I know I’m demoralised.....I literally wouldn’t believe anything from a politician even if they held it in front of my face.

I have zero respect for them and zero respect for the people that still believe in them.

I like Trump, not because he is a bastion of political morality or even a man of ability.......I just love the fact he is f***ing shit up.

My own personal opinion is that we are WAY past trying to deal with these people with common sense, facts and sensible debate, they have not interest in debate.

We are at the “don’t care what you say, just f**k off” point.

Disconnect because trying to beat these people at their own game is flogging a dead horse.

Complete withdrawl from the process is folks only option imho.

He's the product of an era of weapons-grade lying. He could have his own YouTube channel but I think he's basically right in what he's saying.

It's not just the politicians it's pretty much everything else. 24/7/365 information and 25 pages about a royal wedding...

Or he could have been sent to do a job. The best lies are the ones with the most truth in them.

Quite possibly. Or he could be the Jonathan Pie or Tommy Robinson of the 80's. Do you think he's wrong though? If you take out the part where he says the KGB did it it's still a remarkably accurate prediction of what is playing out in the news 34 years later.
