A couple of weekends ago i was driving along the A14 in Cambridge and by the lakes i saw this years first swallows,not seen any around my own house in norfolk yet though..

these 3 have been nesting for the last few yrs.ive about 6 nests in the yard.

two different nests of chicks in my shed.

Had this one in-house other day. Was sending dogs mad and kept flying into windows. Caught him/her and took it outside it flew away fine.

Yep something weird is definitely going on! They arrived here very late this year and by now they are normally raising chicks in a nest, outside my window. Just checked now and it's empty ?

im not seeing many plenty of swifts  but very few swallows ,i was talking to an old mate about it  just wondered these days houses seem to have eves and soffits made from that plastic stuff  and closed in  maybe had an effect on the job

  Nice one mate, glorious time of year this....got a pied wagtail feeding young in garden and a pair of spotted flycatcher looking to be building outside the kitchen window.

noticed a big decline around here when the council replaced the soffits and eve with pvc
