Had a quick play with Beeman C1 today ?

Recommended Posts

Now I've got it set up with a Hawke Vantage Max 4-12x40 ao in a Dampa mount, I fancied trying a few pellets through it this morning.

I gave it a rough zero a few days ago with regular JSB Exacts - I ended up having to shim the front scope ring on the mount.

This morning I tried to fine tune the zero, again with the same JSBs.

Now, this is a cracking little rifle to shoot - it's a proper carbine break barrel with a single action trigger.

You really have to concentrate on what you're doing and, be very definite with your shot and follow through.

........ This thing absolutely punishes any gap in technique

When I felt I was somewhere near enough, I changed the target over and, did some 5 shot groups of the following pellets.......

JSB Jumbo Exact 5.52 - 15.89gn

Falcon Accuracy Plus 5.52 - 13.43gn

H&N FTT 5.53 - 14.66gn

Predator Polymags (Size not listed) - 16gn

The JSBs and FAPs went into the barrel pretty easy without the need to seat them.

The FTTs sat just inside the top of the bore with only a little more resistance.

The Polymags went about half way then, had to be pushed in to seat properly.

None of the pellets changed the feel of the shot cycle.

I'm not sure why I didn't go straight for the FAPs in the first place as they're usually my go-to pellet for a new springer.

........ I think a rezero with these and, a shed load more practice is in order

He's a bit more beardy than he used to be but, he's making some cracking knives

...... We had a look at what can only be described as a small machete - it was made from 4mm thick steel. That thing would easily lop a hand off :o

He's also doing some lockers that are going to come up really nice

He didn't mention the action - I think he's a fan of wood and blued steel but, he did tell me to make sure I take it down the club so that he can have a go.

Seriously, it doesn't need anymore doing to it mate - look at the picture - it's spot on

......  But, thank you for the offer

The falcons did ok then. I’ve got an old mk1 Vulcan, .177 admittedly, but if it’s anywhere near as snappy to shoot as my Vulcan, you did well with that group.

They did indeed mate

Although this one's got character, both Si and Jimmy have worked on it so, I suspect it's a bit more forgiving than an original C1 - it's just me that needs the work now
