A lot criticise the collie /grey but the right one in the right hands for the right jobs is a proper dog. RIP Tegan.

It was a hot old day back in June 2006,...a long old trip from Hampshire, to that remote farm in rural Wales.

We had come, armed with a brace of ex-racing greyhounds, no world beaters, but steady enough gals.

The chosen stud was a flame red, working sheepdog,..calm and confident, a grand example of his type, just as it should be.

Big difference in size and height twixt the greyhound and the collie, but we managed the job...eventually...

The resulting progeny went all over the UK, but I only ever got to see one at work., and what a good honest worker she was.

It is a sad fact of life,..but when hunting dogs get good,..really good,...same as with genuine hunting men,...they get old...

RIP Tegan...

It's a damn shame we never had a pup off her Ken.

She had good innings and a great life.

She did you proud...She'll be waiting for you with a few ferrets and no nets on the other side matey.

RIP old girl.

I lost a terrier Good Friday morning , a week short of 11yrs together , devasted is an understatement , injured in the field , the farmer helped me bury him & this morning I visited his final resting place for the 1st time since that day , it's a tough time socks & kind words do help but there is still that sense off loss , but times a great healer & never forget how much the dog respected / trusted & went that extra mile for you & you know how great a life she had with you .

Rip Tegan.

The good ones will always stay with you in memories: that impossible catch the dog pulled off, the missed bolt hole that the dog managed to find at exactly the right moment. I'm sure you have loads of such moments stacked up in your memory bank, but the loss hurts just the same, no matter how many dogs went before, or after. Condolences.
