Especially ones that don't want the job ,as they be passed on again .

Good luck with what you have and do right by them.

yes i know that ad iv said 3 times i did not pay a penny for this dog i was GIVEN him and i could probz ring the woman and she would have him back now,but the dog does his job fine so im not going to write him off because hes old ill give him some time but as i said i cant nock the dog and without being told i would of thought the dogs was only 5 not 9 and probz run the f**k out of him and jaked him up or end up killing him s hes very keen but now i know ill try take it abit steady,

i said to you in the previous post i havent brought another dog in to do the job of my bitch since shes been up and running except i brought the brother to her back when my bitch split her chest bad as i did not no how it was going to turn out as was alot of muscle damage, yes i did end up selling the brother becuse i just dident have the hares to run for them the lads still got the dog and is happy with him when i sold the dog i did say anyone welcome to try him first.

diffrent dogs for diffrent jobs iv changed the lads i go out with and the type of running  what do you expect to do just take my little 23" whippet built bitch out and just watch?

if this dog turns out no good and to old for hard night he will go back to previous owner or  found a pet home as iv had 3 messages of lads asking for him or pts the red dog will go the same way

Personally I think the dogs we use should be shown more respect rather past about that's a c**ts act

I buy or breed a pup and bring it on,work it and I'm usually happy with it. If it's a failure I'll put part blame on my self pts and move on.

If i was to bring an older dog in ( which i wouldn't)

I'd ask as many questions as i could ,then mull it over, then wonder why good dog is for sale ,

Then ask for a trial ,if the dog jacked I'd pts or offer it back to the previous owner ,unless i thought they'd move on again and again and............

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

Hi to all, so I've never owned a whippet before and have encountered an irritating habit that got worse in the last month of ferreting and was wondering if anyone out there has had success minimising noise during ferreting?
So he runs prey silently, almost never barks at home so I was very happy going into his first winter, but.... when the ferret slot machine is not paying out fast enough for his liking he yips at the holes he senses are near the underground action. On top of that, if he runs a bolted rabbit to ground again he persistently barks at the hole while constantly looking at me as if to say "get them ferrets over here mate, I've got one for you"
I've a very experienced collie lurcher who is a dream to ferret with but the whippet seems to make no reference to the good stuff he does. Any ideas on managing this?

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea
