I buy or breed a pup and bring it on,work it and I'm usually happy with it. If it's a failure I'll put part blame on my self pts and move on.

If i was to bring an older dog in ( which i wouldn't)

I'd ask as many questions as i could ,then mull it over, then wonder why good dog is for sale ,

Then ask for a trial ,if the dog jacked I'd pts or offer it back to the previous owner ,unless i thought they'd move on again and again and............

roybo your from westmids i dont think it would be hard for you to find out this dogs no jacker if u know a few lads ,,i know theres lads on this forum thats seen the dog do his job but im not saying any names as i dont know them personaly

It's 9 year old if it's still alive it must have done something right for someone I guess.

I never once said the dog has jacked .

For what it's worth he looks a nice type,

And hope for his sake he does well for you.

And sorry where I've put "for sale "  read it as given away

Look at the end of the day they are your dogs and you can,and will do as you please.

Hopefully in time you'll realise that the best dogs you'll ever have are the ones that you have had the most input with ,

Royboy. Disagree here just because that animals nine ninety don't mean it being doin a job or keeping some one happy ,here's the just of it I see it he probably gets a run out does a job put always a few mths same routine they can go on forever that ways don't mean he kept any other than himself happy the jukel that his .,he does look a strong type collie type .all depends what one means by a job the fecking thing looks ta me a show pony lol.and for what it's worth lad if that animal fails see it to be your duty to cull it because looking and listening ta this thread there be those that use it in a moment over a brood the jukel will not have the time of notice ta find it out ,seasoned with     out prior history on him.work him lad see  how it goes atb bill

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

Hi to all, so I've never owned a whippet before and have encountered an irritating habit that got worse in the last month of ferreting and was wondering if anyone out there has had success minimising noise during ferreting?
So he runs prey silently, almost never barks at home so I was very happy going into his first winter, but.... when the ferret slot machine is not paying out fast enough for his liking he yips at the holes he senses are near the underground action. On top of that, if he runs a bolted rabbit to ground again he persistently barks at the hole while constantly looking at me as if to say "get them ferrets over here mate, I've got one for you"
I've a very experienced collie lurcher who is a dream to ferret with but the whippet seems to make no reference to the good stuff he does. Any ideas on managing this?

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea
