It was an honest mistake.  She's never left in that room on her own and I didn't have the tool box closed up.

Your right about leaving meds laying around.

I'm pay the price now. So is the bitch.

Jetro, she'll be out of sorts for a while after the op to be spayed, and it's probably left her immune system a bit weaker.  So even a partly eaten tablet will affect her more than it normally would have.  She be right as rain in a few days .

And as wideboy pointed out, meds etc should ideally be kept in a separate room where dogs or kids can't get access to.

yeh  give her  a week to get over it, she like anything  animal or human ,  there immune  system  weak , so any bug  or in this case  getting over a OP . we all learn from things that happen , he will  keep all tabs etc locked up now , hope she picks up soon let me know how she gets on .    Ray

This is what happened to my bitch when she took a pack of Anadin out of my tool box. It nearly killed her.

To make matters worse she just had an op the day before.

I'm bloody sick and gutted that it happened to her. Never thought about them. You just can't be to careful.

Hopefully she will make a full recovery.

I'd be lost without her as she come everywhere with me. Great little worker but a pure pet and joy to own and have around.

So just a warning to thoes who don't know about aspirin.  It's a killer for dogs.

This happened just after one tab.

So after an operation the day before you are saying to us she got a packet of  Asprin out of your tool box and swallowed 1,to me a load of rubbish you gave her one  and yet the end result is in the photos and no one up to now has mentioned getting her to the vets "why".Just to add you would be lost with out her,the best rabbiting dog you've owned shame on you she should have gone straight back to the vets the photos say it all. That poor dog should have been taken back to the vets ASAP and not being hand fed and syringeing fluids into her, by eck.

Why the hell would i give the dog meds when the vet gave them to me already to give to her.

I only put this up to warn others of how dangerous meds left laying around can be.

And yes it was my own stupidy and my fault that this happened. No one else.

Also theirs a few people on here who me and know that I take the up most care of my dogs.

It was a stupid and unforgivable thing to happen. But it did. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else and people learn from my mistake.
