green lurchers 16,365 Posted January 28, 2018 Report Share Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) Just finalising plans to head out for a fly fishing trip after tuna and jack crevalle , went last year but the hurricane meant the bait shoals never reached Tampa bay so although we had a great time in the jacks we never see a bait ball with tuna crashing them it’s been a few years now that I had a few on the fly so hoping will get a shot or two at redfish but they gonna have to wait another year before they are just the target fish Edited January 28, 2018 by green lurchers 3 Quote Link to post
mattyg 1,862 Posted January 31, 2018 Report Share Posted January 31, 2018 Having got inside info that we are being invited back to Anna Maria, I’ve been looking for purpose made travel rod holdalls..... this time I’m looking at 3 weeks. Ill be taking a 9 weight rod, 85gram baitcaster and my Goto 8ft savage 40gram lure rod all with reels loaded with 50-100lb braid (not got a salty fly reel yet) the brother in law now owns a boat complete with all the electronics.....so between him and a few guides I’ll hopefully get amongst a few fish! tight lines mate! 2 Quote Link to post
