Personally hate the attitude that excuses someone for being or acting a c**t if they breed a good dog, or own a good dog. Same as anything else, you see it all the time, someone is rich, or attractive or from a certain family and folk ignore their behaviour and condone it. I couldnt give two fucks if the man has managed to produce some useful pups (he's bred enough), if he's keeping the animals in those conditions and treating them that way, and generally acting like a lying, peddling scum bag. HE IS!

Sheepchaser I'm not one for putting folk down unless I do it to there face ,if Jeff's place that bad and dogs in a state why did they buy a pup ? They have come on here seen what was posted and jumped on band wagon. 

My advise to anyone putting others down is do it to there faces not on here.

I have said I have seen Jeff's dogs and they look in good fettle and that's what matters , I no they a lot worse people in the lurcher game than Jeff.

I didn't say owt about calling the RSPCA mate. My post wasn't in ref to the original posters nonsense.

What i said was, breeding a good animal doesn't excuse you being a c**t or wrong un. 

In my eyes there is a difference between agreeing or not agreeing with something, and being able to judge something as wrong. Its got nowt to do with the law, and everything to do with morality. 

Its same as the idea that everyone with a lurcher is part of a sacred band of brothers, thats bull shite, I wouldn't piss on a lot of lurcher men if they were on fire.

As you say, if you've a problem with the man go and sort it out. But if you need to call in some bigger guns, well, they got to be useful for something or other. Having said that, i would never pick up the phone to the rspca, they are just scum.

Just heard plenty folk on here say about the squalid conditions he keeps and rears his dogs in and the fact he's been making good coin off them.

If this is true, then breeding a few decent runners doesn't make that ok.

Also to me a man who lies a lot, is a liar and not one I would trust or do business with.

I wasn't overly talking about Jeff, just the attitude in general that having or breeding good dogs excuses someone being a massive c**t lol.

Katchum I had rspca knock me door couple Yr ago saying they had reports I had skinny dogs ,I let him in to check my whippet and busher  out and he said " they nothing wrong with them two and wish all dogs I see was like yours "  and he made it clear some one had called them because they had a grudge .

Aye I've had them at my door mate, complete with the police and also trading standards lol. I was reported for various things buy another lad who keeps terriers and lurchers. Nice! It's jealous cutns that try stab you in the back and for that very reason I go out on my own and say nothing to no one  

As for Jeff I owe him nothing but I have known him yrs as I live not far from him and can say his dogs look in good health .

Burrell , Plummer, Hancock, Slieght, Platt, et al, saw a niche and catered for it. Can't blame them for that !

But the vast majority of lurcher lads didn't deal with them, they didn't need "names", they knew what they wanted and needed, and brought in, or bred, accordingly.

Like most lurcher lads of a certain age, I read Plummers books, and enjoyed them, but they didn't affect the route I took. 

We're all out to make a pound or two, and as long as they take care of their stock, don't rip us off, and, in Plummers case, entertain us, then who cares ?

If their yards are shite, their stock untested.......well, you pays your money and takes your chance......

I had a visit from the rspca when I lived in the Forest years ago they were informed by a caring neighbour about the dogs being kept outside and the bull terrier kept on a big chain

I’ve never met Jeff but spoke to him on the phone, so can’t comment how he chooses to live his life and wouldn’t anyway. Yes he is eccentric but thank god we are all different it would be a pretty boring world if we are all the same. 
I have a bitch from his ‘type’ not directly from him though but he likes to still be involved with what’s going on. I don’t buy into his sales pitch but I like the way his dogs look and are put together. She has a good temperament and is intelligent and quick learner. The only problem I have had with her is she is a bit nervy but she is getting there and improving all the time. This could be down to lockdown and me being away from home working and not socialising her enough. 
He has said to me any problems with the dog he will try and help out as much as he can for the dogs life. This season will be the pups first and hopefully it will be turn out well. Probably no worldbeater but that’s will be more to do with me rather than the dog but hopefully we’ll have a bit of laugh.
