david901 161
After a season or 2 with an old baikal sbs, I quite fancy trying a semi auto. A guy at the shoot had one of these with him an allowed me to put a couple of shots through it. It felt very comfortable. I have a chance of a fairly newish Hatsan Escort but I have never tried it. Is there much difference in size, handling etc between them? Cheers Quote Link to post
delswal 3,817
Don't buy a Hatsan before trying one, Don't buy a Hatsan after trying one, hope that helps. Put a bit more money forward for a Beretta Browning Remington or a Bennelli 2 Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
Everyone is very down on hatsans and but I've never had a problem with mine and I've had it three years now. I guess you get good and bad ones 2 Quote Link to post
david901 161
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews regarding the Hatsan. But I've also heard that you can get problems with any make of gun. The Hatsan seem to have more issues though. An elderly gentleman I know is selling his as he is giving up shooting. Its fired less than a box of cartridge through it. Quote Link to post
3175darren 1,090
I have had mine a while like Tyla, I bought it as a cheap shotgun. To take the knocks and not be worried, it's done that well I like it and shoot it a lot, but for clays and hide work I use a fabarm semi auto, and in fairness its a nice gun, apart from looks they both fire and cycle fine, both kill, it's a matter of preference, the newer hatsans are a lot better they say, for a rough gun to scrag around with, they are spot on in my opinion, but have no rear re-sale value, the markets flooded with them, but if you look around there's plenty of quality semi autos about at reasonable prices, 1 Quote Link to post
