trail camera,s are pretty new over here but there are a few reasonable shots appearing and as more people use them I think the evidence will grow same with thermal image, dash cams and drones

So how is that going, 4 years and trails cams are two a penny as are dash cams, thermal images etc so..... I'm on a couple of Facebook groups and see lots of great images/films of all the British wildlife from northern Scotland to lands end and its fairly competitive to get rarities but a distinct lack of big cats.??

You can't take a pic of something that's ain't there mate...

There's more chance of Brad Pitt filming himself bumming Dianne abbot and uploading it on the internet.than a pic of a big cat in the uk..

Nearly every single person in gloucestershire hasn't seen what they think is a big cat.or reported seeing 1..

So what's the odds of the lead researcher who is making a big cat documentary ending up nearly running over one..Now that's some coincidence don't you think GM..

Now instead of digging yourself into a deeper hole of stupidity, read the bit about the photos, both of the people that made the film were influenced to do so by having an encounter, they were film makers before this, if you don’t think it’s true or real that is your prerogative, but by constantly calling me and others like me liars you are just showing yourself to be a closed minded fool as most of your posts do, several hundred people a year see a cat in this country the numbers grow year on year unlike nessy  and Bigfoot uk, and gradually photographic evidence will come to light, the podcast has just done its 50th episode with no sign of people coming forward slowing down, you will just continue to call everything you see rubbish from behind your closed door, so do yourself a favour and open your door and your brain and let’s just see were things go as some people actually want to talk about it but the likes of yourself and your little band of sad acts keep on ruining things, there have been members off of this site that have provided some great evidence and even been on the podcast but won’t speak on here because of idiots like you, I,ve now spent 10 mins of my life I can never get back trying to educate a pathetic excuse of a man, so if you don’t have anything of interest or relevance to add, please do me the curtesy of just f***ing off and I will try not to make you look an even bigger idiot than you are,??

Who called you a liar, the personal insults are your style. I just look for real evidence.

As to the documentary. A respected zoologist, not a photography specialist verifying a photo ?. Two D images are always open to interpretation as to scale. But a good clean crisp image that clearly shows a cougar doesn't need an expert opinion. Then of course there are expert and experts, like the experts that verified the moggy in the caravan ?. There are always "experts" who sell out their scientific principles for a little fame.

No road kill yet then?

night vision, drones and thermal imaging along with dash cams will make it become impossible to ignore within a few years, of this I,m sure

You've posted previously of knowing the whereabouts of cubs, surely that would have been the ideal opportunity to gather evidence? Species, sex etc.

With the Iberian lynx they gather a lot of info via cubs.

Download scientific diagram | Percentage of female cubs from each known Iberian lynx female...

The cat in the caravan, left hair samples that were dna tested and came back as leopard, but that is still not enough for you because it does not fit your narrative, you are more interested in calling me a liar as I said than anything else on this subject, you are happy to hide behind links from experts to confirm your arguments constantly but now any expert that confirms a big cat has sold out, and in answer to an earlier question about carcasses in trees it happens and here is another confirmed by dna leopard shit, is it any wonder I have no interest in holding a civil conversation with you, when you overlook any facts to get a cheap laugh or a couple of likes, so this will be my last reply to you on this subject, you only brought it back up because you were getting shit over your imagrant  hero on another thread not because you have any real interest, ??

I've seen deer hung in a tree before, but obviously by a hunter who's gralloched it and hung the carcass in the tree for later collection, but that pic is very thought provoking ! ?

Cheers.

It does happen but the general consensus is that if some of these animals have bred in the uk they will slowly adapt and as there are no predators here that would threaten them and steal there food why waste a lot of energy dragging it up a tree, there is also the amount of prey here for a very small number of predators so if they should loose a kill another one will be along soon ??

I don't have an opinion either way on whether big cats are resident or not in the UK, but can say that over here where i hunt, there is a (supposedly) fairly large population of cougars (mountain lion). In the 9years i have been here, I have never seen one in the flesh, and no one i hunt with has, and some of those lads have hunted around there for 35 years. I have ran 4  game cameras on and off for the last 5 years and never had a photo of one either, and never seen one dead on the road. But they are around, the lads that hunt / tree them with dogs get them, the ranchers lose cattle to them, and the odd one attacks or stalks someone. I have seen trail cam photos of them on some of the local hunting forums, but not many. We also have lynx here and i usually see a couple each season in the flesh, and i have had them on camera (along with odd wolf, and plenty of coyote, deer, moose, martin etc). But the cougar are defiantly more secretive / stealthy (if thats the right word), and do not get seen often.... Here is an Alberta cougar for reference, shot by a local hunting TV personality :)
