I will never take the lab to his full potential ...I saw his sire at a Scottish field trial and was very impressed but he does what I need and is a decent lab .

the weeman got his cocker yesterday this thing will get to places the pointers can’t ...there will be years of fun ahead with these 2

You've taken a shine to the GSPs recently I've noticed. Looks a fine & strong animal but I don't really know the finer details of what I'm looking at.

They are a lot of work gnash but that will all depend on what lines he’s from just like with any dog ....my pointers all have different traits depending on breeding our last litter which was blood from the continent I won’t say the name of the kennel they produce top stock ....but the way these dogs work just isn’t for me very very rangey .

nothing ventured nothing gained but you need to ask what the dog is up for sale in the first place ...if you get one right and you have the work for it they are a very satisfying breed to graft

is he a pure or cross?

He,s pure yes he was from working stock but breeding wise i have no idea he is living in a pet home with an old boy who,s ill health means he can no longer care for the dog....he was put into a pet home as he,s gun shy which doesnt matter to me as i only want a dog for an outdoor pal type to accompany me on some countryside ventures, bit of a mooch etc

If it’s just for mooching ask the people who own it if you can take it for a walk to see how you get on with it , take it somewhere that you can let it off and take something you can chuck for it to see if it will retriev if it will retrieve and is ok with other dogs is well scocialised  and has good recal then as a mooching dog it would be worth a shot , I’d get your self a catty or air rifle and have a bit of a plink about try get it retrieving som woodys or pheasants , they soon click on what’s up in them trees especially if you can nock acouple tree rats out for it ,

Done all that mate taken him out a couple of times he,s lively and got bags of energy....recalls ok but just looks like a dog thats glad to be outdoors after being stuck in for a while....he,ll chase a stick but cant be bothered to bring it back too many other interests and smells for him at the moment....bright dog though i really like him.
