My pups had its 8 and 10 week injections is there any need for one at 15 weeks or is this just a way for the vet to make more money?

Why Do Puppies Need More Than One Vaccination?

A single vaccination does not give such good long term protection against disease as two injections spaced apart.

Some puppies will also have no protective MDAs by about seven weeks of age, when the first vaccination is given whilst others will still have some MDAs.

In order to protect those puppies whose maternal antibodies may have partially blocked the action of their first vaccine, it is very important that you remember to take your puppy back for his second jab.

Mine still had 2 injections ,but they are probably different brands ,so given differently.

The first two jabs are basically the same but the first jab may not work hence they back it up with a second to be sure the 3rd jab is a money making scam imo

If the vets had their way they'd have every dog getting inoculated once a week,,,,,ker ching ££££££££££££££££££

 

I was always led to believe that a good healthy bitch will pass on her natural immunity to a pup and this will keep a pup safe 'till around 12 or so weeks of age so any inoculations before this is a waste of time and money.

Then an inoculation at 12 weeks followed by a booster at 14 weeks and this will do a dogs lifetime.

The vets will tell you otherwise but it's all about the money nowadays with them and there has been questions asked about the legalities of telling us that dogs MUST get a booster once a year.

There's even folk questioning the amount of dogs being spayed now and some think the vets are pushing spaying because it's a money spinner more than a welfare issue.

Every time I've had my dogs at the vets they go on about getting them castrated , every time without fail . When I took my terrier for his injections as an 8week old pup the vet said he would need castrating because one of his bollocks hadn't dropped yet and she couldn't feel it . I've worked on farms for years so I had a feel myself and it was there (and did drop not long after) . She must have got me confused with the average gullible pet owner who didn't know any different and thought they could rinse me

I second that, my brother had a well bred bull grey out of a dog in dogs of deer his pup had all three jabs, 12 weeks old the dog developed parva, 1 day late the dog was pts I'm not saying jabs don't work, I give mine two jabs I pay £10 each for them and iv never had any problems (touch wood) I get my pups jabbed just to be on the safe side but imo it's in gods hands what happens, just likenfolk iv been out with before that won't slip because there's barbed wire or a near by road or the field looks dodgey I don't mind it because I get more slips but it doesn't matter how careful you are yes you can prevent an accident happening but once that dog is slipped it's in gods hands what happens next the point I'm making is yes you can have all three jabs and surely it must do something but don't go thinking by any means does it mean that your pup won't pick up an infection or desease, the biggest school boyberror is someone getting there pup jabbed thinking it's made of Stella so they walk it up the local park where there's loads of dogs to get it socialised if your pups going to catch something it's where there's lots of other dogs, I give my pups two jabs and I don't start walking it until she's around 4 months old I have her out in the garden with the kids and my other dogs, 4 months old I start socialising and stock breaking

mine had her 1st jab yesterday,her next is in 4 weeks and then he's allowed out 2 weeks after that.nothing about a 3rd one.£65

Parvo was going about my area not so long ago and killing dogs with and without jabs most off the digs didn't have them though, bothe mine got a little ill for around two weeks and am sure it was that but they where fine my thoughts are they would have been pts if they didn't have there jabs they can still get it but have a better chance of surviving with jabs. The vets must have been rubbing there hands with all the locals flooding in getting boosters and first jabs.

That might be true if you keep them at home till vac,but I I've seen pups from vac bitches die from being taken to parks and public areas before being vac themselves.Why risk a potentially great worker by being frugal.
