Right lads Rob,s(squab) hw35 177   this will be pic heavy lads so Rob can see what work is being done to his rifle   just got it this morning and after work i set about it   atvbjimmy :thumbs:

your right mate didnt know it had any grain I wasnt 100% there was even a rifle under all that muck lol,as for cricket not my game but obviously she been well abused over the years,as for leaving it a

Set about stripping her down

 

piston and piston seal only need a clean and polish

 

spring looks like an old ox spring but its bent any way so need a new one

 

breech seal is fecked totaly lol

 

top hat is ok as well

Stripped all the stain out and removed all the dings and scratches

 

just got to smooth her out now Rob

 

bet you did not know some of this grain was there lol

 

i dod not until i removed the stain :D

And a new helper just got it this morning

 

just need a polishing wheel and a wire brush wheel for her now

 

By feck its hard doing it by hand so this will help me out some lol :laugh:

That's going to come up really nice with that dark streak running through it :yes:

It is Jon this stock had years of worn out marks on her and the lacquer was on thick really thick

 

i think its been done before at some point as there was a lot of scratches under the lacquer

 

which ill get out with the smoothing out process
