Favourite 12 Cartridge

Recommended Posts

Birdshot, I use 32gr felts #5 shot, this for me is because; 1. I'm not a good shotgun shot & the killing power of bigger shot (I think) gives me the edge; 2. I have 'old' (1970's) non multichoke guns.

For Foxing I reload my own in AAA & No 4 Buck with homemade shot, I shoot fox mainly by Rifle but here & there that's not possible.

For the odd clay shoot I use 28gr 7 1/2 plasiwad.

Hey guys just wondering what people's views are on best all round vermin/rough shooting cartridge is I like a 70mm 32g 5 myself but know a lot of people prefer heavier or smaller shot ?

What's on the menu?

I like 28 gram English no. 6 for light weight game guns on a typical driven day, 32 grams English No. 5 for rough shooting, pigeon and crow decoying, 36 gram No.3 steel for ducks, Winchester Drylock 44grams no.1 for geese and as much lead as possible in no1-2 for foxes.
